The Nutshell newspaper lists sponsors and staff including Mr. G. A. Hartman and Mrs. Dorothy Hast as sponsors. Rose Marie Davis serves as associate editor with Hileen Mott as sports editor. Gene Myers and Joan Sargeant are named activity editors alongside Lynn McDaniel.
Carey meets Gibsonburg in the first Pro Test Tournament game at Fremont Ross on February 14 at 7 30 p m. Gibsonburg leads with a 15 1 record while Carey stands 8 6. Officials are Don Mewhort and Bryce Bloom. Carey schools raised funds for polio totaling 362 097.
On February 7 the school hosted archers Don and Ginger Bechthold who presented a lively program. They demonstrated bows and arrows including hunting and target arrows, cutting a birthday candle flame with an arrow and cautioned that archery is fun yet dangerous and requires care.
Girls from the dean’s group attended a Valentine Dance hosted by the F. H. A. The program featured piano solos by Marlene Lee and Barbara Riegter, poems by Irene McKinnon, Joyce Myers piano, vocals by Joanne Plott, a tap solo by Eileen Mott, vocal duets by Dortha Wilson and JoAnne Plott and by Nancy Bauer and Phyllis Vaughn, and an accordion solo by Alice Leighty. Round dancing, cards, and games complemented the event with refreshments served.
Eighteen boys from the Carey Hi-V Club traveled to Findlay on Wednesday for a club activity. They planned contests and demonstrations highlighting club projects and teamwork.
John Cole 226 Dow Street was seriously injured when he fell from a second story window at the Galt hotel onto the sidewalk. He suffered fractures to the skull shoulder collarbone and right ribs plus a head laceration requiring stitches. He remained at Blanchard Valley hospital as his condition improved slightly and consciousness briefly returned. Mrs Cole had been in Omaha but returned home Sunday evening.
Lists revised home addresses for service members including John E. Sammet at San Diego California and Pvt William D Dill Jr with units in Missouri and Georgia. Also notes Pvt Dennis Yates and Cpl Donald M Callahan tied to Fort Leonard Wood Camp Gordon and San Francisco posts.
Adrian Helton, commander of the Findlay recruiting station, says David L. Jacquey and Louis L. Krom of Carey are among 382 men who enlisted there in January. In 1951 Wyandot county sent 33 men to the Findlay station.
Revival services began Saturday at the Church of God on 377 Frederick Street and continue each evening at 7 30. Rev Leonard Lasley leads the meetings with Rev Della Watkins pastor inviting all to attend and seek blessing.
The Past Matrons association of Crawford chapter No. 168 Order of the Eastern Star will meet Friday afternoon. A potluck supper will be served at 6 o'clock.
NOPSON Carey Memorial Park board invites applications for pool supervisor cashier and lifeguard positions for the upcoming season Gail Newell president presides over the process.
Carey Lodge No. 407 I.O. F. announces a regular meeting this Thursday evening February 14 at 8:00. All members urged to attend. Secretaries name Van Baker.
Poets appear Fridays at the Eagles venue offering readings and performances for a local audience.
Carey Ohio event lists Cotterman of Capital University and Dr Hilliard Camp of Findlay College as speakers at the Carey High School auditorium on February 21 and 22.

A detailed schedule shows Thursday February 21 events with grades from West and Col Crawford performing songs and plays including Yankee Doodle and Battle Hymn of the Republic. Friday February 22 features invocations, musical selections by High School bands, and a one act play Orchids for Marie with student performers.
Sgt John James Simonis arrived home early Tuesday morning to spend a 30 day furlough with wife Betty Higginbotham and his parents. He left Camp Stone Man California for Korea a year earlier February 15 and returned via plane from Japan. He served with the 1st Cavalry Division 7th Regiment and will report to Fort Knox Kentucky on March 18 for reassignment.
Mrs Gordon Wyatt and Mrs Arden Doppler entertain the Priscilla Guild of Christ Lutheran Laurel this Thursday evening at 8 oclock at Mrs Wyatt’s home 110 West North Street. Mrs Ralph Zender will be devotional reader and Mrs Earl Robison lesson leader.
Farmers are invited to submit grain and seed exhibits at the Community Institute. Entries must be turned in Thursday morning at the high school auditorium. Donald Karcher heads the agricultural committee and Cloyce Wentling oversees display setup. Local 4 H clubs have been invited to participate.
The district meeting of the Past Chiefs of the Pythian Sisters, set for February 28 in Caray, has been postponed to a later date.
Regular American Legion meeting of Earl Greenpost No 343 set for 8 p m Tuesday February 19. All members urged to attend.
Carey merchants launch a two day Dollar Day sale with 10 to 100 percent discounts on hundreds of items. Stores stay open Friday night until 9 pm to give shoppers extra time to find bargains sponsored by the Carey Businessmen's Association.
A Home Arts display is planned at the Community Institute with prizes for top entries in each classification. The committee includes Mrs. Earl Robison as chair and Mrs. Forest Myers Mrs. Perry McDaniel and Mrs. M. D. Shafer. Entries must not have appeared before and should be labeled for owner identification. Bring items to the high school auditorium by 4 p.m. February 21. The show spans cakes and cookies etched aluminum trays handmade rugs plastic handbags crocheting tatting knitting embroidery and other needlework or handicrafts with examples like afghans tablecloths bedspreads pillow cases potholders doilies and quilts among acceptable items.
Miss Helen Smith was guest speaker at the Carey Kiwanis Club meeting in Gib bins dining room. She spoke on points in Abraham Lincoln's life, her third appearance before the club. Next week a film on the Hoover Commission and economy reforms will be shown.
The Carey Home Demonstration Group meets at 10 a.m. Thursday in the home of Mrs. W. L. Grumbaugh at 368 S South Street. A noon potluck dinner will be served. Miss Priscilla Wright, county home demonstration agent from Upper Sandusky, will lead with the theme How to Make Your Time Worth More.
Our Lady of Consolation Christian Mothers Society sponsors a card party Sunday February 17 at 8 o clock in the parish hall. Mrs Wilfred Droll chairs the event and parishioners and friends are invited. Admission is 50 cents.

Library records show 57 subscriptions monthly with 7 for youth. In 1961 totals included 3,232 adult and 842 children magazines circulated. A new addition is Consumer Reports for factual consumer guidance.
