County Judge Babst begins second term in common pleas court

Ear of Corn Wins Grand Iowa Show Championship
The best ear of corn grown in Iowa this year won the grand championship at the Iowa Corn Growers show at Iowa State College and sold for 3200. It was bought by E. L. Reed, the grower, who plans to continue breeding with Johnson County White. If sold by the bushel at this price, corn would bring over 2500 per bushel.

Resolution to block mandatory advertising in legal publications adopted
At the forty first annual meeting of the Pennsylvania State Editorial association in Harrisburg C. L. Schuck publisher of the Monessen News introduced a resolution.
