The Carey exempted school district raised 480000 dollars from a bond issue sold through Peoples Bank. Preston H. Gaster aged 73 and his wife Allavena 78 from Carey are hospitalized after a 10 30 p m Monday collision four miles west of Tiffin along Route 224. They were returning from the Ladies Night banquet. Gaster has fractured ribs and back injury. wife suffered broken cellophane and was given oxygen for shock. The tractor trailer owned by Daniels Motor Freight of Warren and driven by James R Foote of Mercer collided with their car as the eastbound truck attempted to pass and the Gaster car turned left into its path.

Mrs Lester Smiley returned Sunday from Akron where she had been called by the critical illness of her mother Mrs John Unger at Akron City hospital. Mrs Unger's condition is improving.
