Debate on art versus nature at District No 4 program
On Friday evening at District No 4 a Lincoln program honored the centennial with student displays and presidential portraits. DC H Hutchinson spoke before intermission as Jacob Nitrauer decorated the room. a post intermission debate on whether art is more attractive than nature favored the affirmative led by M Steen and Hutchinson over Nitrauer with Oscar Steen presiding and judges Karr Walters and Petrie.

Miss Irene Gillette Sprains Ankle After Ice Slip
Miss Irene Gillette suffered a severe left ankle sprain Tuesday while slipping on ice in front of the J. A. Gibbs home on West Main street. She assisted at a dinner afterward and later walked with help to her country home. She moves about on crutches and hopes for further improvement this week.

The sale by J. M. Ruffner & Son Saturday afternoon drew a large crowd as wet weather hindered work. About twenty horses from Missouri were auctioned with prices ranging from 195 to 220 dollars. Findlay Horse Co. bought one for 22 dollars, while Tilden Pierce and Payne & Reister also purchased horses. Peter Duff spoke as auctioneer and J. A. Smith served as clerk.
