Chicks Lost In Brooder House Fire At Carey Farm
The Herman Brodman farm north of Carey suffered a fire at 7 40 pm Monday caused by an electrical short. About 100 chicks in a metal brooder house were killed. Brodman found the blaze while checking a blown fuse and Carey volunteers extinguished it, limiting damage to the building.
