The wedding took place at St Paul’s Lutheran with a single ring ceremony. Harriette Allmendinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. P. Allmendinger of Chicago, married Harold Houk of Carey. They planned a Drake Hotel breakfast with relatives and will live on Worello street after residence at 559 First Street. Houk is Ohio State graduate, Navy veteran, and Phi Kappa Psi member.

Arm Amputated From Cancer Patient at Grant Hospital
Samuel McBeth of New Hard street had his right arm amputated at the shoulder at Grant Hospital in Columbus. Dr Baldwin performed the operation after a long battle with hand cancer. The 72 year old patient endured the hour five minute procedure well with his wife and daughter Mrs. Fred Lasere present. they planned to return home Sunday.

Kenton Man Blinded in Dynamite Blast Seeks Recovery
Arthur Oglesbee, blinded by a dynamite explosion last Tuesday, is resting at McKitrick Hospital in Kenton. Doctors removed both eyes and expect his return home in about three weeks. His father R. E. Oglesbee suffered a ruptured eardrum and remains under medical care.

Miss Hudson Wins Diamond Ring at Legion Exposition
Miss Helen Hudson oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W R Hudson of North Street won the $80 diamond ring in the popularity contest at the American Legion exposition last week after selling the most tickets. She totaled 10 455 votes with Miss Florence Reinhart second at 10 060 votes. The ring features white gold with a platinum set diamond.

Legion Banquet and Meeting at Earl Green Post 344
The Carey Legion post held its regular monthly meeting and banquet at the Galt restaurant Tuesday evening. About 34 Legionaires attended a meal praised as very good, with minutes read and approved, a report on the indoor fair netting around 250 after expenses, and a 50 percent promoter fee. Bills totalling about 210 were paid and burned, a new payment rule requiring written notices was approved, Captain G E Tuttle urged forming a Ladies Auxiliary, and adjournment followed a successful event with attendees noting a good time.

Wood Chopping Fundraiser At Crawford Church
About 31 men gathered Tuesday at the Crawford M. E. church to cut and haul 15 cords of wood donated by Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Whaley. Four teams assisted in loading the wood while women prepared a 25 foot long dinner table. Miss Opal Wentling entertained with instrumental music as the society extended thanks to all participants and listed numerous helpers.
