Carey defeats North Baltimore 105-101 in overtime after trailing at halftime. Mike Dasher led with 35 points, Rick Miller 25, Bob Campbell 20, and Thad Malesh 12 as Carey outshot 85 percent from the line and forced OT with two seconds left in regulation. Benedict led NB with 25, Wymer 23.

Mohawk Carey Workshop Highlights Student Discipline Talk

Properly Located Fire Numbers Will Reduce Rates Chief Urges Action

The Carey fire department plans a new number system in Crawford township rural area. Residents without numbers should call the on duty fireman at the city building to arrange placement. Numbers belong on mail boxes, not telephone poles, and must be moved there for rural insurance rates to fall after inspector approval. The program has run three years and thanks are due to the Carey Chapter of the Future Farmers of America for placing the numbers.

Holy Communion Wednesday at Christ Church

Band Mothers Set Date For Checking Uniforms

Red Cross Blood Program Urgently Threatened in Wyandot

Wyandot County Chapter of the American Red Cross warns that the blood donor program could terminate within 30 days unless a $567.27 payment is made toward the $750 annual pledge. The group notes the county share is 98 cents per pint and appeals for timely contributions to Upper Sandusky.

Officials Back Highway Moves At Wyandot Meeting

Wyandot county courthouse heard no opposition to State Highway Department plans to extend SR 199 over former US 23, add SR 568 to state facilities, and abandon SR 503 and parts of SR 330 587 and 699 across Wyandot Hancock and Seneca counties. Attendees included highway officials commissioners engineers township trustees and Carey and Upper Sandusky officials. A transcript of testimony will go to the state highways director for consideration.

Carey Village Council Accepts Material Bids in 1964 Plan

Carey council approved bids for insurance and materials for 1964. A tree trimming survey by the electric department was ordered to reduce damage and balance costs between the electric and general funds. Wharton switched its electric distribution to Ohio Power on January 25, with Carey supplying large electricity purchases last year and projecting growth in 1964.

Cemetery Addition Proposed at Spring Grove Memorial Park

Mr Dunn outlined a proposal to convert the 2 acre addition at Spring Grove Cemetery into a memorial park. The idea was discussed briefly with no action, and the manager said the area will be leveled seeded and probably platted this spring.

Highway changes discussed at Upper Sandusky hearing

Council Chairman C. J. Hagley and Mr. Dunn led village representatives at the January 29 highway department hearing in Upper Sandusky. The state will maintain W Findlay Street from Vance to the west village limit while Carey will take over maintenance of State Route 509 and SR 699. County officials praised the Plan to keep US 23 to Upper Sandusky and SR 15 to Findlay in the state system, with US 23 continuing as SR 199 and SR 15 as SR 568.
