Wide Area Power Failure Hits Northern Ohio
A 42 minute outage hit Carey and a wide area of northern Ohio on Saturday evening starting at 5 45 and ending around 6 27. The fault originated at the Howard substation in Shelby on a 66 000 volt line from a 122 000 volt feeder. Crews traced the fault, cleared the circuit, and restored service while exploring possible causes including a bird nesting near equipment.
