Major General Enoch H. Crowder is praised by state department officials for making progress in Cuba's political and financial disputes. Elections are expected by mid February and Crowder will stay until after the by elections. He is shifting focus to the island's financial situation.

Joseph Dell died at his Shelby home Tuesday evening after a year with diabetes. Born April 25, 1897 in Big Spring township, he was a son of Ferdinand and the late Dell family. He married Elizabeth Calmes. four sisters and a brother survive. Funeral was at the Catholic church in Shelby Friday at 10 am with out-of-town attendees listed.
About fifty five residents attended the Eden Center Farm Bureau meeting Tuesday night. The program calls for six farmers to grow corn and soybeans for hogging down, an eight member pig club led by C. W. Case, twenty five farmers to grow a standard variety of wheat, four poultry culling demonstrations, Boys and Girls Poultry clubs with eight members led by F. S. Aten, and six farmers to keep account books. Some farmers will demonstrate hogging down corn and soybeans, Eden Township also adopting a standard wheat variety. Beef and dairy cattle meeting is planned for February, hog meeting for March, wheat meeting in July, and poultry meetings in early fall.
Deputy internal revenue collector L D Willford will tour Wyandot and Crawford counties to assist taxpayers with 1920 returns due by March 15 1921. Listed stops include Sycamore Carey Upper Sandusky Nevada Galion Crestline New Washington and Bucyrus with dates through March 15.

The United Evangelistic Campaign to involve Methodist Evangelical and United Brethren churches began last Sunday at the United Brethren church. Despite bad weather the house was full and has stayed so nightly with strong singing and brief addresses by pastors W F Martin I H Amore and J C Rinehart. A young people choir performed Tuesday and attendance is expected to rise with continued nightly meetings through the week and into a second week.

Lawrence Emerine died Wednesday afternoon at his son in law and daughter B G Kauffman home five miles east of Carey. He was nearly 77 and survived by children Frank Peter Henry Emerine of Carey Mrs B G Kauffman and Miss Sarah Emerine of Fostoria plus six grandchildren. Burial at St Wendelin cemetery after funeral at St Wendelin church conducted by Rev A A Weber. Numerous relatives attend from area towns.
In Marion the town buzzes as President-elect Harding rests away. A fire destroys a home once used as Harding's campaign HQ. The county treasury was robbed by the treasurer who feigned assault to cover the crime. He confessed after authorities traced $14,000 hidden at his home. He claimed debt drove the theft.
Funeral services for P. B. Wonder were held last Thursday at United Evangelical Church with Rev. I H Amere officiating. Music was provided by Mrs Scofield and others. Attendees included Dr and Mrs Charles Bowers from Sunbury and several relatives from Findlay Fos toria Bellefontaine Toledo and Columbus. Burial followed at Spring Grove Cemetery with pallbearers E B Kurtz W R Kurtz Jacob Stief Willard Stief Willis Wonder and Phil Henn.
Seneca County figures report C J Yingling well known merchant of Tiffin slipped on an icy street near his store last week and suffered a head wound along with several bruises. Post office orders in Tiffin authorize closing the post office at eight each evening due to lack of guarding personnel.
Mrs. Scott Long received word Monday that her brother Miles Mullholind died at his Richmond Indiana home. He was born near Carey in 69 years old.
