Carey Hi Y Adviser Garners 25 Year Service Award

Mr Mullholand received a 25 year service award as adviser of the Carey Hi Y club. George Schwemley, president of the Hi Y, presented the pin plaque and card last Friday in the high school assembly. The award honors his longtime sponsorship of the Hi Y boys.

Carey Schools Bring In Record March of Dimes Total

Leo T. Jones reports Carey schools raised 645.84 for the March of Dimes from Col Crawford with 338532 pupils donating 4 per pupil, Awest building with 99 pupils giving 111, and the high school of 350 students contributing 199.22. The effort will be sent to National Foundation of Infantile Paralysis headquarters for national publication.

Court Favors Bucyrus Firm in Hose Coiling Dispute

A three judge court ruled for Swan Rubber Co. of Bucyrus in a suit by Miami Industries of Toledo seeking 4400 dollars for a hose coiling machine. The Toledo firm claimed the machinery was inadequate and nonpayment. Swan contended contract terms were not met.

Pfc Kenneth Stroub Receives Bronze Star Medal in Korea

Pfc Kenneth A Stroub 23 of Carey was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in combat against enemies of the United States. Serving three years in the Army he has been with an infantry division in Korea since June 26 and has seen heavy fighting. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Ray Stroub Sr of High Street.

Carey C Y O basketball squad remains undefeated after a week of wins. Paul Orians poured in 48 points against Meyer Gerding, with Bill Dennison adding 22, and the team defeated Cooper Tires 69 38 at Findlay. They followed with a 91 85 victory at Leipsic and a 72 53 home win over Fostoria, then beat Mockets at Upper Sandusky before traveling to Ottawa. No home games for two weeks.

Carey Memorial Park pool reports first year operation

The Carey Memorial Park Board releases its first year results for the new pool. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day it closed 21 days due to cool weather and lists contract totals of $60,942.45 with six vendors including Wie derkohr Bros and J F Dible Co. Attendance reached 13,264 with 7,208 season tickets and 6,050 general admissions. average daily attendance was 135.4.

Youth Week Revival Events At Memorial BE Church

Youth Week activities are in progress at Memorial BE Church. Evening services begin at 7 with a trip to Vanlue JUB church for a revival. A weekend revival is planned with 7 30 p m sessions Friday to Sunday and 10 30 a m Sunday service. Miss Meredythe Scheflin and Glenn Spaulding from Cleveland Bible College will speak. A 2 30 p m Sunday service will be held at Wyandot County Home. The Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation begins Lent with Ash Wednesday Feb 7 at 7 00 pm with distribution of ashes after each mass. Michael Bibich of Findlay a former Crestline resident purchased the stock and fixtures of Cy's Super Market from CC Simonis. Bibich a veteran operator plans to remodel and redecorate the Carey store before opening. Seventeen Inducted From Wyandot County Draft Batch

Seventeen Wyandot county draft registrants left Wednesday for induction into the armed forces. A further three had draft notices but were already enlisted.
