The community learned Sunday morning of the death of Mrs Flora A Ludwig Humbert at 67 years 2 months 14 days after heart trouble. Born in Lehigh County Pa she moved to Allentown at eighteen and married W K Humbert in 1852 at Philadelphia. Funeral was Wednesday at 10 a m with Rev Fr Herbert officiating and burial in Spring Grove Cemetery. She leaves seven children four living two sisters and two brothers.
A Macon Georgia dispatch from December 18 1898 reports Company B still on Provost guard but hopeful for return soon after a review by the president. The 2nd Ohio colonel said the men wish to leave service and go home, a gift of black gloves to the troops followed. The Co B captain received $50 from Upper Sandusky for a Christmas dinner for members. Carey boys are well and would visit Cuba if possible.
