Christmas Program by High School Planned for Friday
A special Christmas program will be presented by the high school Friday afternoon December 23 at 1 30. The public is invited to attend. The program includes songs violin duet readings a playlet and prayers conducted by Helen Beebe and others with members of student clubs performing. Schools close December 26 for Christmas vacation through January 2.

Polly Coldiron of Sycamore visited the high school on Tuesday and Wednesday. H. R. Hutchinson returned to duties as band instructor after a two week illness. The Cotton Blossom Singers performed at the Methodist church Tuesday evening and at the high school auditorium Tuesday afternoon, offering Good News Song of the States The Rosary Old McDonald Had a Farm and Is Everybody Happy among others.

Death of Sylvester Shuman Passes at 82 in Carey
Sylvester Shuman died at 1 30 am at his W Findlay Street home after a period of declining health. He was born June 22 1850 in Crawford Township and aged 82 years 5 months 29 days. He married Sarah Corwin in 1873 and Alice Gregg in 1890. Survived by four children six grandchildren and two adopted grandsons, plus four sisters. Funeral at the Methodist church with Rev A C Rainsberger tomorrow at 2 pm. interment in Lutheran Ridge Cemetery.

Death of Crawford County Resident Edward Stauffer
Mr and Mrs O W Squier attended the funeral of Edward Stauffer in Bucyrus on Monday. The 71 year old former foreman of Crawford County petit jury died at a Maple Street grocery after a brief illness. Medical aid arrived too late and apoplexy was given as the cause. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery beside his wife who died a year earlier.

Fire of unknown origin Saturday night destroyed three caskets 1933 calendars an ambulance cot garden tools and various articles in the garage of Bristoll and Kear funeral home on W Findley street. Death of Mrs. Jonathan Bachar in Marion area
Mrs. Jonathan Bachar of west of Carey died at 4 20 Friday afternoon at the Gorsuch home in Marion where she had been cared for since being taken there three weeks earlier. Born Martha M. Gifford in Hancock county July 17 1852 she married Jonathan Bachar in 181 and moved to a farm near Western Town. She leaves five children six grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with several siblings and in laws. Funeral services were held at St Pauls Evangelical church west of town with Rev W R Shissler officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
