Carey reports its new 250000 gallon water storage tank is in service after leak-free tests. The facility will raise available water, stabilize pressure between 42 and 50 pounds, and supports ongoing fire protection for the eastern industrial area.

Carey Man Heads World War I Vets

O. D. Wohlgamuth was elected commander of Wyandot County Barracks No. 1798 World War I Veterans at a recent meeting. Other officers chosen include Harry Rook, Reno Bianchi, Clarence Reinhart, Ed Moll, Charles Schnabel, Charley Boyce, and Solomon Ruffing. The next meeting in Upper Sandusky on January 4 will install the new officers.

Carey Teachers Attend Unusual Conference in Ohio

Mrs. Charles Schwemley and Miss Wealtha Wentling attended the 4th annual conference of the Ohio Council of the International Reading Association at Bowling Green State University on December 4 and 5. The event highlighted the Joplin Plan and other reading programs with speakers from Joplin Missouri New Castle Pennsylvania Milwaukee Wisconsin and Ohio State University. A key address by Dr Laura Zirbes offered creative language arts teaching Spurs. The next meeting is February 26-27 at the Hotel Stafford in Cleveland.

Blue Devils roll to 5th straight win in 2-0 league start

Carey Blue Devils extend unbeaten streak with two more victories last week. They beat Harden Northern 57 49 on December 8 at Dunkirk to improve to 5 0 and 2 0 in the Sandusky Bay conference led by Ron White's 18 points and John McDaniel's 16. St Mary's edged Carey 24 from Rex Orians 17 and a balanced Blue Devils attack. The reserves lost 44 31 while Sandusky topped Carey 40 34 in the second game. Gibsonburg comes to town tomorrow night to test the undefeated squad.
