Hunters face new setback after quarantine relief
Hancock county hunters, previously nearly barred by hoof and mouth quarantine, now struggle as limited hunting resumes. Last Saturday several rabbits were killed but their carcasses showed disease with small white spots on bodies and swollen neck glands.

Found Dead at Fostoria
Mrs. Bess Shuck aged forty two or forty three was found dead in her bed at Fostoria last Thursday morning after a prolonged illness. Born Bess Snook she was a half sister of Mrs. Al Corwin of this city. Her remains were brought here Thursday afternoon and buried in Spring Grove cemetery.

OSU three year agricultural scholarship awarded locally
Earl Criger son of L S Criger, of west of town, has won a three year scholarship in the agricultural department of Ohio State University. He earned it by raising ninety six and a half bushels of corn from one acre, despite unfavorable working conditions.

Death of Jurist Michael Donnelly in Michigan
Judge Michael Donnelly of Napoleon and member of the district appeals court died in Ann Arbor Michigan from valvular heart disease. He had three and a half years left in his term. Associates on the court were W H Kinder Findlay and Phil M Crow Kenton. The governor will appoint his successor.

Funeral at the Capitol for Sereno E Payne
Sereno E Payne former New York Representative for thirty years died suddenly last Thursday. Funeral services were held in the House hall Sunday with cabinet supreme court and Senate members in attendance. The president and vice president were represented. Payne chaired the ways and means committee and authored the Payne Aldrich tariff law.

Burglary at Local Pool Room Leads to Arrest

A plugged half dollar led to the arrest of Russell Greer who admitted guilt at a hearing before Mayor Wonder. Unable to post bond, he was sent to the county jail awaiting court.
