Light Office Moves to New Municipal Building

The Women of the Moose district conference gathered in Marion under the college of regents with Carey as the honor chapter and Sue Wille of Akron as guest. Mrs. Thomas Baker of Carey led the event. 36 Carey members and guests from Springfield Bucyrus and Marion attended. Ten Carey members were initiated and a 6 pm dinner followed at Hotel Marion with guest speaker John Williams of Bucyrus.

Auto Strikes Local Worker Near National Lime Plant

Arden Schade of the National Lime and Stone plant was seriously hurt when a car driven by Robert Barrett of Adrian struck him along the road north of town about 6 45 Saturday morning as Schade walked to report at the office. The south bound glare from Barrett’s car blinded him as he attempted to pass. Schade suffered a fractured left leg and minor bruises from the impact.

The Seneca county board of education granted petitions transferring parts of the Adrian district to Carey, McCutchenville, and New Riegel. Angus Calf Wins First Reserve Champion at Cleveland Show

Five Aberdeen Angus calves from the Burson and Ward herd were shown in Cleveland last week with four placing in the top ten. One calf sold to the American Legion in Cleveland and used by the group 28 as a project. The winning calf topped the Aberdeen Angus class and earned reserve champion of all breeds. All five calves were raised on Earl Burson’s farm west of Carey.
