On Thanksgiving day Truman Shaw and Emmett Sausser brothers in law of Elza Jacobs traveled to Carey in Shaw's car for entertainment at Jacobs home. Strong gusts toppled a telephone pole blocking the road. The wire tension raised the pole enough for the car to pass under it before the pole fell back and grazed the car’s top. Had it dropped sooner it would have struck the occupants.

Last Thursday night a fierce wind and rain kept many away, yet a good crowd gathered at the Lutheran church for services. After a wedding dinner at the bride’s home, the couple will reside at 223 Perry Street Sandusky City after December 1.

Official account details William G Cludy born June 10, 1885 who died instantaneously on November 26 while on guard duty at Galveston docks. He entered the guard house, turned on a light, and was fatally shocked while investigating a power failure. Funeral held at United Evangelical Church with IOOF lodge participation. He enlisted in the United States guards in March. his lieutenant praised his soldierly qualities and esteem among officers.

Death of Jacob Stoody in Muncie Street Home
Jacob Stoody died Friday at his Muncie street home from anaemia after a year of ill health. He was 60 years old, born August 22, 1868 in Washington County Pennsylvania. He moved to Bridge township at age six and spent his life there. He married Lucretia Thompson on November 2, 1879 and had two sons John and Harry. He leaves a wife, two sons, two grandchildren and two brothers Will and John of Petoskey Michigan. Funeral services were held Sunday at United Evangelical Church with interment in Spring Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were Al Blue, Dr. F L Moyer, Delmar Angus, Fred Lytle, Dallas Humbert and G W Bish.
