Pleasant Surprise for Angeline Dunishlaughs Eighteenth Birthday

A surprise party Thursday evening November 28 marked Angeline Dunishlaughs eighteenth birthday at her home one mile south of Kirby. Promptly at 7:45 PM about forty friends entered from Elmer McLain’s, with music by Angeline, Iva McLain, and Fred Wagner. Miss Gertrude Stanfield sang, Angeline accompanied, and refreshments followed at 10 PM. Angeline received many gifts including a gold watch from her parents and various porcelains and keepsakes from friends and neighbors.

Miss Eveline Denman Dies After Long Illness

Miss Eveline Denman died Wednesday morning at her home in Carey after fifty years as a cripple. Born November 17, 1833 one mile east of the city to Elijah and Lovica Lenman she lived through early frontier days when bears and deer roamed. She leaves two sisters Mrs Angeline Lockridge of Carey and Mrs Naomi Bixby of Napoleon, and a deceased brother. Funeral was Friday at two at United Brethren church with Rev. William Hook preaching. pallbearers listed and Spring Grove Cemetery interment.

The Nevada farmers institute will host a corn exhibit December 11 and 12 with prizes for Wyandot and Crawford county entries. Kentfield Family Celebrate Thanksgiving at Shawton

Mr and Mrs Charles Kentfield and daughter Hulda spent Thanksgiving at Shawton. Mr Kentfield added to his thanks by selling several fine barred rock chickens which he shipped Monday.
