J H Bowden owner of a Carey candy kitchen died suddenly on Thanksgiving morning after feeling unwell for days. He was born May 9, 1848 near Utica New York and lived in Chicago and Ohio before settling in Carey over a year ago. He married Martha Morgan and left a daughter Flossie. Funeral at ME church was led by Rev J Williams with Civil War pallbearers. burial at Woodlawn Cemetery Norwalk.
