Elijah Brayton of Pueblo travels to Columbus for the Grand Army encampment with his brother Dr W G Brayton. His wife has gone to Philadelphia to stay with relatives but will join Carey before returning home. Brayton was the youngest-looking man at last year’s encampment and is 76 years old.
Hancock County reports a large docket for the coming term of the court of common pleas starting September 8. The West Ohio M. E. conference meets in Findlay soon with a lay association session on September 4. Sheriff Huff travels to Los Angeles for Rev. Rohain, indicted for non support. Ballard to succeed Taylor as County Surveyor. Barn fires plague area as lightning hits Mrs. Ecker’s Eagle township barn, destroying livestock and feed. Citizenship class guides draw 25 visitors and five applicants with judges and educators leading the instruction. Local housing shortage noted as Findlay attracts new workers, with 50 houses needed to house incoming residents. transport trends show taxi and car use dampening railway travel.

Mrs Mary Blinn, longtime Alvada postmistress, died in Fostoria after a throat obstruction. The incident followed a meat lodging incident last Thursday evening. Survived by daughter Mrs Chark Hemmerley, funeral held at Scroppied church, burial at West Independence. Mr and Mrs Elmer Wonder attended.
George E. Dunn of this city wed Miss Blanche May Berry of Findla in a ceremony at aloure Magu Missouri.

About 165 members gathered at the park last Thursday for the Ward-Baker reunion. A fine dinner, songs, recitations, and speeches by A. J. Ward of Big lick and Mrs. Edgecomb of Beaver dam were enjoyed. The group planned the 1920 reunion for the park on the third Thursday in August.

Notice to all Evangelical churches in the Carey charge to deliver conference missionary money to the pastor by the 21st of the month. Trustees and stewards of all churches in the charge will meet next Monday evening at 600 o'clock in the Carey church to lay financial plans for the coming work.
