Flood Control Plans Studied in Carey
At a special village council meeting on Thursday officials studied flood control options for Carey. Champe Fink sbeiner & Associates of Toledo were hired to survey the local situation and two plans were discussed. One enlarges the tunnel under the Big Four railroad to increase water flow through Spring Run, the other considers a natural reservoir in the west end with a dam and gates to slow flow. A 20 acre plot owned by Lee Ogg is being surveyed to locate the proposed reservoir and compare merits of both options. The June flood emphasized the need to prevent a recurrence.
