Airship Tragedy Witnessed by Findlay Man in Chicago
Frank Carpenter of Findlay, Ohio Oil Co. in Marshall Ill., watched Aviator William R. Badger die after his airship plunged 3,000 feet and crashed within 200 feet of Carpenter. He snapped a picture as the craft tipped toward the earth and disintegrated. Badger died about 45 minutes later from injuries.
