Carey youth earns expert rating on M 14 at Ft Campbell
Pvt Roger Perkins 19, son of Mrs Betty L Coldiron of Carey Ohio, fired expert on his weapons qualification test with the M 14 near completing basic training at Ft Campbell Kentucky on July 12. His father Willie Perkins Jr lives on Route 3 Warsaw Indiana. Mr and Mrs Jerry Coldiron and their son attended the ceremony with Roger and his fiancée Miss Cindy Scott from Warsaw. Car Rolls Over In Hit-Skip Accident Near Carey
Wyandot County Sheriff probes a Saturday morning hit and run on county road 97 four miles south of Carey. Viola R Gibson, 56, of Wharton, escaped injury when her 1963 Ford northbound on Route 97 was struck by an unknown southbound vehicle. Her car veered off, rolled 160 feet, tumbling onto its roof on the left shoulder as investigators collect evidence left at the scene.

Three die as car struck by train at Crestline crossing
A Vanlue family died when a train hit their car at an unprotected Crestline crossing. Junior Dyer 37, Sylvia 32, and Donald 10 were killed. Daughters Dariene and Delphine were injured and in fair condition at Crestline Hospital. Services were held August 21.

Car Check at Wyandot County Fairgrounds
The State Highway Patrol will conduct voluntary vehicle inspections on Thursday August 22 at the Wyandot County Fair Grounds Upper Sandusky from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cars will be checked during the noon hour. Minor Vehicle Collision Reported at Vance and North
At 2:30 p.m. on August 14 a minor accident occurred at the northeast corner of Vance and North. A 65 Chrysler driven by Sam Abraham northbound stopped for a turn and was rear ended by a 59 Pontiac driven by Niederkohr route 2.
