Water Carnival Draws Large Crowd at Carey Pool

Carey pool hosted a water carnival on August 8 drawing over 2000 attendees to see the colorful show. The event featured guest diver Dan Craft from Bowling Green, local performers, and a finale with aerial shells. improvements to pool facilities included rubber matting to prevent slips and new park amenities underway.

Funeral Held for Donald Bowen Aged 16 In Mifflin Township

Attendees from Carey Columbia Station and Toledo gathered in Upper Sandusky Friday for the funeral of Donald Bowen 16 son of Mr and Mrs Miller Bowen of Mifflin Township. He was killed Tuesday when a pressure tank on a spray gun exploded while he was spraying a barn. Bowen is a nephew of Mrs Beebo and Mrs Hagerty.

Young Evangelist Sisters Lead Two Week Church Revival

The Frederick Street Church of God opened an old fashioned revival to capacity. Lillie Haney a 13 year old evangelist from Belle Center conducts the revival assisted by her 11 year old sister Wilma. Both girls sing and play guitar and accordion. Evening services at 8 o clock.

Mrs Earl Coppler has sold the Artistic Beauty Shoppe to Miss Barbara Ingersoll of Sycamore who took possession August 13. Detected August 6, she was placed in a body cast last Saturday after delays. An IV feeding occurred during treatment. She stepped from the second step thinking it was the bottom of a ladder.
