Wyandot County voters face a large slate of candidates for village township and school posts at the upcoming election. A total of 148 people filed for various nonpartisan offices with 65 for village posts 41 for township seats and 42 seeking board of education positions. The Wyandot county fair speed committee has organized a strong race slate with a fine track condition and a blanket trophy for each race. Wyandot County reports its initial polio case for 1949. Herbert Conn, nine, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Conn, Nevada, is at City Hospital Cleveland diagnosed poliomyelitis after illness of more than two weeks. Franklin Fulk, ten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Fulk, Wharton, is in Children's Hospital Columbus after polio was diagnosed in a Kenton hospital.

Dick Lab pitched a six hitter with 7 7 strikeouts and one walk to claim his sixth win of the season. Donelson cashed Bascom errors in the third to score Carey’s first run.
