Congressman Charles V. Truax of Wyandot County died suddenly Friday afternoon from coronary thrombosis in his Washington D C rooms. A fiery state and national political figure, Truax was buried after private and church services in Sycamore Ohio. He was 48, survived by a wife and three children, and had served as state agriculture director under Gov Vic Donahey.
C W McGill cashier of the Peoples Bank returned home Tuesday forenoon from Findlay hospital where he had been a patient nearly eight weeks. He is slowly recovering from a serious operation complicated by acute uraemic poisoning.

Floyd Gaster aged year old son of Mr and Mrs Maurice Gaster of south of town won the first prize of 5 dollars at the amateur hour in Upper Sandusky last Thursday. He performed Birmingham Jail with Urban Myers accompanying on guitar and harmonica. Arden Moser of Carey took second prize of 2.50 singing There's an Echo in the Valley with piano by his mother Mrs Earl Moser.
An overnight break-in was attempted at the Soda Grill after midnight Tuesday. Proprietor Bernard Jacob found a woot chisel used to force the lock, splintering the door wood, but entry was not gained.

Mrs. Guy Chesebrough learns from Lakeport California coroner that her brother Charles L Bond died August 8 at 63. He was son of L L Bond of Norristown and survived by two sisters and a brother. Bond lived in Carey in youth, later in Tiffin, and moved to California 12 years ago.
Mrs. D. A. Capell reported a purse stolen Sunday night after selling tickets in the Strand theatre booth. She left the purse on a chair while she went to the projection room, returning to find nearly ten dollars in cash missing.
The Jennie Larmonth Missionary Society of Christ Lutheran Church will meet Monday evening August 19 at the home of Mrs Russell Gottfried. Miss Carolyn Newhard assists as hostess and Mrs Gust Summit serves as Tedder.
Mrs Edna Hull of Carey died Saturday night at 9 45 after a serious operation at Findlay hospital. Born Oct 13 1897 Edna lived in Dayton Risingsun Sycamore before settling in Carey. She was a Linotype operator for The Carey Times and a Sunday school teacher at Christ Lutheran. Burial at Spring Grove cemetery followed a Christ Lutheran funeral with Rev Paul R Clouser and Rev C O Callendar officiating.
Rev. W. L. Harmony of Trinity Lutheran Findlay will lead the Sunday morning service. The next two Sundays August 25 and September 1 will feature only the Sunday School service.
Dodge Motors defeated Nevada Merchants tenth inning style with 16 hits led by Dave Orians three for three and Donelson two RBI. Culver was roughed up for 10 runs on 14 hits before being lifted in the fifth. Nevada committed three errors while Parsell allowed 14 hits. An Old Timers charity game follows at 2:30 with local ex players invited to join.
Eagles lodge officers from Fostoria will travel to Carey on Monday evening August 18 to conduct a Carey lodge meeting. All officers and members are urged to be present.
A chicken supper will be served at St. Nicholas Church Frenchtown on Sunday August 18. Serving begins at 4 00 PM.
