Camp Perry hosts County Company L of Sycamore returning from Sunday march while Rev B L Lenkcamper of Dayton accepts call to Trinity Re formed church Upper Sandusky. Various local items include Nevada tournament set for August 28 and aging resident Adam Swartz in ill health.

Mrs. W. N. Michaels and Ralph Kurtz won second prize in a nationwide window decorating contest by Inland Storekeeper magazine. Their entry, the George Washington Window honoring Washington's birthday, earned $3.00 and a magazine illustration.
Illinois clipping reports James Franklin Dunaway died May 29 at his Findlay home. Born 1852 in Fairfield county Ohio, he served in the 135th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. He visited this city recently. Carey had been his boyhood home and he was a schoolmate of Marshal John Lockrider.
Mrs. Frank Long and Mrs. Ira Smalley attended the funeral of their uncle John Martz Sr. in Fostoria. Martz died suddenly from effects of a stroke.
Clarence Rose has purchased the half interest of Charles Clir in the Star Theatre and will hereafter conduct the business alone. Columbia Graphophones at the New Pharmacy.
The second pilgrimage to Our Lady of Consolation occurs August 15 the Feast of the Assumption. Hocking Valley and Lake Shore rail lines run special trains and excursions from Toledo and Cleveland to Carey with thousands expected. Novena began August 7 with daily services at 8 am 3 pm and 7 30 pm. A candle procession is planned August 14 and a 1 30 pm High Mass on the feast day followed by a 2 30 pm procession and 7 30 pm closing service.
A large, successful moonlight picnic was held at Crawford on Monday evening. Attending were Mr and Mrs Jacob Hualty and sons Harold and Thomas with niece Julia Taylor of Toledo, Mr and Mrs LG Ranger, Commissioner and Mrs George Ash, Dr and Mrs J D Southwand and daughter Nellie, Mr and Mrs Wesle Patterson and daughter Martha, Mr and Mrs D C Henry and daughter Eugenia, Mr T M Johnston and Vir and Mrs J A Smith.
The 15th annual Crawford reunion will be held on Saturday August 26 at the W C Crawford home in Biglick township.

Wyandot county granges plan a union picnic on the fair ground Thursday August 24 with D E Dunham of the Ohio State Grange delivering an address. Open to all interested in agriculture for a daylong event to be remembered.
A T. and O. C. wreck at Hancock forced a southbound passenger train to detour. The Findlay to Carey route diverted via Forest Dunkirk over the Pennsylvania system, with Carey visited by the Toledo and Ohio Central service Saturday morning.

A funeral is set for today with Mrs Peter Krupp and Mr and Mrs Frank Ruffing among those expected to attend. Mr Ruthny and Mr Ruthnw were noted visitors, with several local residents planning to pay respects this afternoon at the service.
Vincent Krupp, son of Mr and Mrs Peter Krupp, was run over by a barn separator last Thursday while assisting with setup. He suffered severe bruises but no serious injury due to soft ground from heavy rains north of town.
Jacob Hickle died at his mother's home three miles northeast of the city on Friday August 4 at 3 40 p m after a long illness of dropsy. Born March 22 1859 on the family farm he is survived by his mother two brothers G D Hickle of the home farm and John Hickle of Hibbing Minnesota and one sister Miss Catherine Hickle. He was a member of the German Lutheran church. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 00 p m at the home with Rev E Luther Spaid presiding a quartet sang and interment followed in Baker Cemetery pallbearers were George Beis James Needs C M Wenner John S Fox William McDonald and Joseph Mitt en. Attending from distance were Mr and Mrs Fred Gintert William Gintert of Trumbull County Mr and Mrs Phillip Helek of Mt Blanchard Mrs George Baldwin and daughter and John Baldwin of Upper Sandusky Mrs Catherine Miller and Mrs Barbara Wetzel of Seneca County Ernest Vogel of Langley Mr and Mrs Ernest Carr and James Seldon of Attica.
Mr. and Mrs. Er. F. Thome entertained Sunday dinner guests including Mr. and Mrs. Peter Frank and daughter Irene, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Berg, Mr. Fred Berg, Mr. Carl Berg, and Miss Wanda Shafer of Upper Sandusky, Miss Louise Elmer of Niagara, N Y, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beebe and Mr. and Mrs. George Ash of this city.
Mrs. Mary Cole Bailey born September 12, 1832 in Fairfield county Ohio died July 17 1911 at Reading aged 78 years 8 months 5 days widow of William Bailey who died December 14 1909. She left ten children five living Thomas Charles John in Reading Mrs Mitchell Osage Kan Mrs Richards Lafayette. She was Methodist and active in church work. Aunt to Henry Cole Charles Cole King Cole and Mrs Asa Snyder. She was daughter of Joshua Cole and last of a large family.
The Livingston family will hold a reunion at Riverside Park in Findlay on August 30 inviting all relatives to attend.
