Ashland woman’s detailed Pacific voyage through Philadelphia to Washington
In a letter from Los Angeles dated March 23 1910 Mrs C F Shepherd of Ashland Oregon recounts a February trip with Carey relatives. She visits Pittsburg Philadelphia New York Washington and the White House, describing parks churches hotels streets museums and notable landmarks including Independence Hall the Liberty Bell the Capitol and the White House with rooms and ceremonies noted.
