City Council to appoint two to Transportation Commission

The City Council is expected Tuesday to appoint Brian Beeman owner of Capistrano Ford and Tony Soto brother of Mayor Pro Tem Joe Soto and a Water Advisory Commission member to the Transportation Commission. They will join Roberto Brutacao Morton Smith and Lawrence Kramer appointed in April.

City weighs site for new San Juan cemetery

City officials Hart and Swerdlin will scout 25 to 30 acres near northwest open space to possibly build a cemetery within a year or two. City to pay back rent in settlement over Capistrano Plaza

The city and the San Juan Capistrano Redevelopment Agency will pay 239,815 to Ralph Bertolino, owner of Capistrano Plaza, settling a long lease dispute tied to land and building at 26755 Verdugo Street. City Council and agency must approve the agreement at the June 3 meeting.
