Pacifica San Juan housing plan advances to council with conditions
The Planning Commission recommended the 416-home Pacifica San Juan project on 256 acres off Valle Road and Camino Las Ramblas pass to the City Council with modifications. They urged larger lots to reduce density, tied the A Street road completion to the 151st building permit or within 18 months, and required SunCal to build an emergency access road for the adjacent McCracken Hill neighborhood. Dissenting vote by Sheldon Cohen cited traffic and road impact concerns. Residents warned the plan deviates from the original 350-home concept from the 1990s and raised questions about slope fixes and traffic mitigation.
