A 90 mile per hour hurricane hits Vera Cruz causing heavy damage to bridges, houses, ships, and plantations. Only two deaths reported with broader danger feared in Jalapa area and waters flood streets up to six feet.
Samuel I 81 foreman of a tailoring shop in Weland was hurled to death when his automobile crashed through an elevator gate on the garage floor and plunged to a basement below. The elevator had risen to the floor after Welsh drove off to park, and he reportedly stepped on the accelerator, causing the crash and fatal fall.
In Leghorn Italy on September 30 Mussolini met Sir Austen Chamberlain aboard the Giuliana for a 55 minute conference at sea. No witnesses were present and officials kept details guarded while each premier returned to his respective vessels.
