Slayer Faces Sanity Test in Murder Case
Smith H. Cunningham, 38, of Brewster, indicted for first degree murder in his brother John Cunningham's death, will undergo an insanity hearing in common pleas court next week. Prosecutor Henry W. Harter Jr. said an attorney will be appointed and the court may be asked to commit him to Lima State Hospital for the criminal insane. A jury will be drawn for the hearing. Cunningham shot his brother on Brewster Street after reportedly saying his brother blocked his way to God.
