Thompson Is Dismissed From Canton Health Board Post
Canton news reports William F. Thompson, long time chief sanitary patrolman, was dismissed by the board of health for alleged carelessness neglect insubordination and dereliction. The board also accepted Dr Fred G King’s resignation as city physician and named Dr Charles A Ports to succeed him with a temporary salary of 40 dollars a month. Thompson claims the action stems from personal differences and will file a defense within three days. The health board plans a new plumbing permit charge to fund the health department.
