Barber Ends Life After Despondent Stay At Infirmary
Edwin Smith a thirty five year old barber from Alliance killed himself in the county infirmary wash room using a leather strap tied to a steam pipe. He had been despondent since July and had previously attempted to drown himself and cut his throat. The body was found by Harry Fisher at 7 am after a prior statement he might drown himself in a lake. Smith had occupied the late William Palmer’s bed and leaves a sister in Fort Wayne with a wife and children who moved to Wooster. Wooster police were asked to locate them.
