George Black of 933 Carnahan avenue NE was arrested Thursday night in the 300 block on Cherry avenue SE by Patrolman Parke Booth in connection with the midnight Sept 6 cutting of Frank Disinger. Black is held at the city jail on a charge of cutting with intent to wound.

Coast guard planes and ships end searches for the ship Andaste and its 28 crew after a Lake Michigan storm. In Charlotte, Gastonia witnesses face charges in a kidnaping case tied to textile strike leaders. Police say armed guards may clash in South Gastonia during planned meetings.
About 300 shippers and receivers attached to the Allegheny Regional Advisory Board completed a two day meeting here and planned the next session in Pittsburgh on December 12. Manufacturers from eastern Ohio western Pennsylvania northern West Virginia and the Maryland panhandle were represented and several were approved for membership in the association.
Assistant County Prosecutor Emerich B. Freed will seek a first degree murder indictment from the grand jury against Michael Di Tirro 35 who confessed to killing his former employer Mrs Barbara Irr. Tirro said she refused to rehire him and had threatened to have him arrested for his demands.

Berlin dispatch reports Britain plans to evacuate the Rhineland starting Oct 1 and 2 as part of Hague Conference terms. The 19th field brigade of royal artillery will depart from the Rhineland. Paris says France will start evacuating the Coblenz area within days, with most troops in Mayence to stay until next summer.

Mrs. Frances Corbit of 3022 Hursh NW filed four separate petitions in common pleas court seeking $10,000 against Lawson Corbit Priscilla Corbit Harriet Platt and Genevieve Platt for injuries suffered when they attacked her at her home on April 4 1928. She claims broken ribs abdominal injuries permanent in nature and other cuts bruises.
Mrs Myrtle Huddleston of Mattoon Alabama began her first English Channel attempt at 9 45 AM. By 10 30 AM she had covered two miles. She previously endured a 50 hour 10 minute 16 45 second endurance swim in May 1928.
