Miner Killed When Explosive Lets Go
John H. Black a 33 year old miner from Fast Sparta died in Aultman hospital after an explosion at Stark-Summit Coal mine near East Sparta. He had tried to light a damp fuse, the end broke off and lit a powder can causing the blast. He crawled out injured and died next morning from burns. Funeral set for Friday at 2 pm with services at the East Sparta home and Sparta Christian church. He leaves a wife a son Paul nine, parents Oliver and Mrs Black, two brothers and two sisters.
