Dimichele seeks freedom in habeas corpus case

Alexander DiMichele, former Hudson Fireworks Co. owner, filed habeas corpus proceedings Tuesday to gain release from county jail. He was arrested after failing to pay a $35,000 judgment won by a Canton youth when a bomb from the company exploded in the boy’s hand. Canton Victims of Weekend Crashes Named

Three people died and three were killed or seriously hurt in separate weekend crashes in Canton and nearby areas. Amos Hostetler 45 of Canton died from head on crash injuries near Strayberg while Miss Edie May Davis 18 of East Sparta perished in a Cleveland street collision. Christian Herbick 50 of New Philadelphia died from 6600 volt wire burns at work near Midvale. Mrs Lucille Hanke 1235 Wertz Ave NW and Mrs Mannie Harding 50 Dover were seriously injured. The Dover accident involved Victor Dannemiller of Dannemiller Grocery Co Canton. Hostetler’s passenger injuries were critical with possible second fatality pending.
