Mrs. Henning testified in the conspiracy trial of Daniel Donahue and Isaac Stieffel, admitting she was the tool of two men aiming to ruin Clarence Funk. Funk, an ex International Harvester official, was under medical care after a taxing witness stand day. She said she would not recognize Funk if seen.

Chief of Police Smith said Patrolman John Webber would not be punished for cruelty charges involving seventy year old Thomas Mitchel. Mitchel alleged Webber knocked him down. Webber admitted striking him after provocation. Mitchel remains jailed until Police Judge Quinn decides Monday.
Six men are killed and fifteen injured when a lumber train derailed after colliding with a car near Garyville Louisiana. All victims are described as Negro. half the train’s 150 riders were white and escaped.
Chicago records a surge of self caused deaths as Coroner Hoff man investigates eight cases. Within an hour four more cases were reported as officials monitor a rising trend in personal crisis incidents.

A stranger enters W. G. Walker meat market at 201 North Youngst and forces clerk Fred A. Liesy into the ice box locking him in while rifling the cash drawer and taking $35 before leaving. Neighbors have not located the suspect. Edward J. Avery retracts charges against C. A. Stolberg in a Canton political dispute.
Chief of Detectives Ryan and Detective Reed arrested two men who gave the names Tom Brennan and Leo Marty on a burglary charge. The pair burglarized Conroy's saloon on Friday night, pried the door, and stole cash and whisky. They were held at their homes near the saloon and jailed for a police court hearing Monday.
The Department of Justice officials said no immediate action against the alleged telephone trust is contemplated. Assisted by the Interstate Commerce Commission, the department is pushing its probe rapidly and may take important action within a month or two.
PWV Arington reports the Treasury Secretary warns evaders of the income tax will face the extreme penalties of the new act. He outlines collection rules and forms to curb evasion, including certificates for the first 15 days and temporary papers due by March 1.
