Charles Smith mining foreman of Iron Haven Michigan was robbed of 1100 by two highwaymen near the Chicago and North Western depot. After telling police his story he attempted to jump into a deep excavation but was restrained by detectives. He and his sister Mrs Verona Sizaske of Chicago inherited 1100 each from a relative.
