County considers bond issue for new jail with architect plans
County commissioners late Wednesday began steps to seek voter approval in November for a jail bond. Guy Tilden was appointed to draft rough plans and estimates. A conference with common pleas judges and county officials will determine space needs before a bond amount is set. The jail would be stone four or more stories with offices, jailer quarters, and a juvenile court room. No cost figure yet. the plan aims to fit the courthouse style. The county bar association said it would request representation.
