State order deems the current building unsafe, prompting council to allocate funds for building plans and referendum preparation. An estimated 166000 will be needed for repair, seen by some as a stepping stone to a new structure.
Detroit May 26 Official announcement was made today of the early production of the long expected new light car designed by Henry Ford. The Ford company says the car will offer speed style flexibility and control in traffic and will continue in the light car field with quantity production, high quality and low price with constant service. A complete description will follow in coming weeks. Parts for the present Model T will still be manufactured. The new car will cost more to build but be more economical to operate.
Lisbon May 26. The schooner Infanta Sagres with Commander Francesco de Pinedo aboard and his plane Santa Maria is in tow and has arrived at Horta in the Azores according to dispatches today. De Pinedo was forced down in a nine report November flight from Newfoundland.
Indiana attorney general’s wife Mrs Arthur L Gilliam who obtained whisky for sons medicine would be guilty of violating the Crabbe act if the act occurred in Ohio. Judge A W Agler said the trial court would have to fine her, save for a possible self defense defense. Cantonians urged views as Agler presides over most Stark county liquor cases and has imposed large fines.
Paris hosts Capt Charles A Lindbergh as he urges a regular air link between France and the United States. He expresses gratitude for official honors and hopes his flight paves the way for closer transatlantic aviation, sharing the wish with Capts Nungesser and Coll. London reports King George will receive Lindbergh in an informal audience Monday with the Prince of Wales present for a casual aviation chat.
St Johns Newfoundland May reports renew search for Capt Charles Nungesser after a claimed crash heard near Swift Current Placentia Bay on May 9. H Collins and son said they heard three explosions and later learned the missing plane may be involved.
A series of Wednesday crashes on wet streets left Earl Berlin 41 of Homeworth dead after his car hit a telephone pole in Alliance. J W Pasco faces a manslaughter charge for the taxi crash that killed Le Roy Fach, 12, with bond set at 2600. Multiple injuries and arrests follow as police report speeding, broken windshields, and a crossing watchman remark on preventing future incidents.
Charlee Hexamer, councilman at large, will not oppose Harry W. Oliver for city council president. Hexamer announced Tuesday a candidacy and withdrew Thursday to back Oliver while remaining up for re election as councilman at large.

Streitenberger may be used for court appearances and may work as a carpenter while under observation for two weeks.

Open to boys 12 to 16 who must make their own kite with one helper allowed. Twelve prizes total for largest smallest prettiest and highest flying kites.
