Bodies of 135 Ohio World War veterans who died overseas are expected to reach Columbus from New York Friday. John Red Ressler aged 40 died instantly when the car he rode in on the Southan extension swerved and hit an embankment. Two women and another man were in the vehicle. the other man fled and the women were arrested. A bottle with raisin jack was found in the car. The holdup was carried out by two young men who drew revolvers, pressed chloroform on his nose, tied his hands and rifled his pockets.
On trial for a second degree murder in Amadio Scarsella case, the state seeks to show jealousy over a fiancee. Peter Spera testified that Scarsella and Tiberio Gregorio visited from Jeanette to discuss a debt plan related to D Ava, who was to marry the sister of Spera. The defense moved for acquittal, but Judge Day ruled there was enough evidence for the jury to decide the case.

Joseph Stayer files in common pleas court against Dale Hoon seeking 270 dollars for the death of a pony fatally injured by an automobile east of Greentown. Stayer alleges his brother rode the pony when Hoon sped up and struck it breaking its leg. Attorneys Lynch Day Fimple Lynch represent the plaintiff.
