Farmer John Spuhler Ends Life In Suicide After Loss
John Spuhler a 67 year old farmer of Whipplerd near the cider press shot himself in a wagon shed after planning the act. He had suffered the death of his wife a year and a half earlier and was found sitting upright with a forked stick gun in hand. Neighbors heard a night shot but the family heard nothing until Sunday morning. He leaves three daughters Isabel Leopold, Ella Rininger, Cornelia Wymer, a son Wilbert and John at home, a brother Edward Spuhler and a sister Mrs Mathilda Gordon along with eighteen grandchildren. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 9 PM from an old Undertaking home in Market-ay Ny conducted by Rev Reckth Canton.
