Miss Josephine Kasselman and John A. Cameron married in Chicago after meeting at the Neave building fire in 1908 in Cincinnati. Cameron earned a Carnegie medal and $1,000 for rescuing dozens of girls, while Kasselman was recognized as a heroine by the fire department. The couple’s marriage, begun during the peril, was kept private until recently.
