Pittsburgh detectives arrested Frank Custer alias W R Valton and H M Parker, an oculist once of Columbus, after a chase through several central Ohio towns. He faced Allegheny County robbery and extortion charges and was initially linked to a Braddock Pa murder, but authorities said no connection. He will be held for extradition as governors sign papers.
The Interstate Commerce Commission disclosed that New Haven high financiers sought court support for a Westchester franchise as part of a plan to seize control of the New York, Westchester & Boston railroad. Evidence shows demands for a new franchise, removal of condemnation actions, and renewal of franchises with judges influenced.

The Massie family’s story traces Harley Beard’s mental change from loneliness and imagination to greed as he killed Robert Massie and his mother and sister. Beard, an eighteen year old from Chicago, lived with the Massies and confessed to being mistreated, though witnesses dispute this.
