Canton Council Advances Preliminary Legislation and Budget Moves
Canton council passed a preliminary extension of corporate limits and named a five member committee to address Beligate rent profiteering. It authorized the service director to solicit bids for new tanks and expanded sewage beds and provided funds to repair the auditorium. Safety Director Hamak authorized 300 for sustenance of prisoners until July 1 and recommended pay raises for engineering department staff amid numerous requests for higher pay. Steps were taken to end ten port discount for water customers.
