John Walker of Love City, president of district No. 6 United Mine Workers of America, will be arraigned May 29 in Caldwell on an indictment charging rioting tied to local mine trouble. Six others named in similar charges will be arraigned Tuesday. Walker pleaded not guilty at yesterday's arraignment and was released on a $500 bond.
Cleveland police hunt for Esther Benson, a state hospital nurse, abducted last night by her estranged husband Charles Benson. Two nurses witnessed the abduction as he pursued and forced her into a car, triggering a citywide search.

Seven inmates who were seized during a raid on an uptown speakeasy escaped from the West 47th Street police station jail today after breaking through a grate and fleeing via a rear exit. Guards discovered the escape when preparing to move them to the West Side court.
