Coroner Eades speculates death by suicide after a fatal shooting at the Cage residence. Beulah Palmer and Albert Cage, 55, were involved in a deadly domestic incident. Washington May 10 The Coolidge administration suffered a crushing legislative defeat as the Senate passed a tax reduction bill backed by a Democratic insurgent coalition. The final 69 to 15 vote ignored Mellon plan proposals, aligning with Democratic finance leaders. The House and Senate bills both move toward the President's veto fate.
Arrangements completed for the funeral of Mrs. Hubert Work wife of the Interior secretary who died Friday afternoon as she stepped from her car. At President Coolidge's invitation the services will be at the White House a rare privilege for a civilian. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
