United Press Cable reports a powerful quake in Acireale Sicily last night killed at least 100 and injured many more. The quake struck around Mt Etna, destroying villages including Bongiardo with 10 dead and 20 injured, while towns of 1000 plus were wrecked. C W Post Ends Life by Shooting Himself
C W Post, millionaire cereal maker of Battle Creek, Michigan, shot himself in Santa Barbara California where he spent the winter. Health had been failing but supposedly improving after an operation in Rochester Minnesota. Coroner Ritz announced the death, with Post's funeral arrangements moving to his winter home. He was born October 26 1854 in Springfield Illinois and built the Postum Cereal Company among others.
