Fire devours six story Columbus apartment building

Ten people are dead and nine injured as a blazing six story building at 75 West Broad Street in Columbus traps residents. Victims include Charles C. Speakman and Mrs George Reifsneider. others leapt from windows to the sidewalk amid flames from a bathroom gas jet. Firemen battled a roaring inferno as the structure burned.

Extraordinary session of Congress rumored for White House

May 6 reports an imminent extraordinary session of Congress to be convened at the White House. Dispatches hint at May 26 or June 2 as possible start dates, with weather notes for Ohio and Tennessee in the same bulletin.

Canton considers restoring eastern time against federal daylight rules

Ingleside Hospital to Reopen as General Facility

Ingleside on High avenue Southwest will reopen June 1 as a general hospital and nurses school. Mrs. Anna M. Viethmeyer and Mrs. Elizabeth Schenker bought the property for 47000, with improvements under way and a nurse staff being formed. The hospital will feature a Turkish bath basement, general patient care first floor, an accident department, a children’s department with specialists, and electrotherapy equipment. Viethmeyer will be superintendent and Schenker assistant, with plans for physician staff and a standard nurses school in connection.
