Louisville Posse Wands Fete After Long Chase
A Louis ville posse captured Steve Leo after a two mile pursuit following Leo's alleged abduction of a five year old girl Hazel Meyer near the Louisville area. Leo fired on the posse in a swamp near the Superior Sheet Steel plant wounding a pursuer as the group closed in. He was taken to Louisville by Capt. Frank Guittard and a .25 caliber pistol was found on him.

A boy held captive in a riverside cottage at Theresa was rescued and later met his relieved parents at the county jail. Oberlin Farm Bandit Battle One Year Ago
One year ago Canton police and a posse wiped out a bandit gang in a gun battle on Oberlin's farm five miles north of the city. The gang led by Tommy Saxton Andrew Kepler William Stevenson and John Hager Stephans alias Oklahoma Slim kidnapped Sergeant John Wise and bound him in Oberlin woods before a final stand. Stephans and Stevenson were killed as was Ralph Hoffee. Saxton and Kapler died after wounds, while Patrolman Jesse Vogley and Roy Boston were wounded.

Dennis Young an 18 year old resident near Mt Pleasant was taken into custody by Sheriff Kirk and Deputy Richter after a prank involving a tire placed in Canton Airroa road. He was held for naming others and released to return with the group Tuesday morning.
